FL5 Carton Line For Aksorn
Aksorn Art Paper Cup and Packaging Company, based in Thailand were producing such high volumes of jobs that their four existing offset presses could no longer keep up with demand, and when the time came for their next investment, they decided to ‘go flexo’ and purchased an eight colour Edale combination UV/IR FL5 Carton line with a wide range of additional options.
Solution
The FL5 Carton can print up to 600 micron cartonboard and guarantees a high speed which ensured Aksorn would receive rapid return on their investment.
Their FL5 Carton consists of a high specification Martin Automatic continuous unwind, combination IR/UV, shingled delivery table and a range of additional options. As standard, the machine has servo drives on each print head providing pre-register, auto-register and print length control features.
This, combined with the revolutionary print head designs, ensures job change times and set up wastage are kept to a minimum with the ability to perform a full station colour change in under 70 seconds.
Benefit
The FL5 Carton offers several advantages over traditional presses, including minimal ink usage and reduced waste to support environmental considerations, while the fast make-ready times enhance productivity rates, especially for very large projects such as this.
The FL5 Carton line can be customised to suit the exact requirements of the customer and this specific machine was designed to combine the multiple processes normally associated with folding carton production, in a single pass, thus rationalising the production process, stock holding and eliminating work in progress.
We decided on the 8 colour Edale FL5 Carton as it can drastically reduce time; the biggest problem we were finding with offset were the bottlenecks – this will be eradicated with the FL5 Carton, and allow us to become more efficient in both cost – and time, and enable us to meet customer order demands quicker
— Joe Wongvorakul, Managing Director, Aksorn
