DEMAX GROUP SHARE THEIR LATEST UPDATE

In 2017, Demax Group, a leading security printer in Bulgaria, specialising in digital, plastic cards, labels, flexible packaging holographic and security printing, formed a partnership with Edale to develop a ground breaking FL5 single-pass scratch card line, the first of its kind in Europe.

Edale, engineers of world-class printing and converting solutions for the packaging industry were excited to collaborate with Demax on this special project to create a customised solution for their requirements.

Ivan Nestorov, Technical Director at Demax comments: “Our decision to collaborate with Edale in 2017 was driven by our need for a lottery scratch card line tailored to our exact requirements.  The solution provided by Edale was designed, customised and manufactured with cutting edge technology, offering a complete solution that met our needs.   This investment proved instrumental in transforming and innovating our lottery card operation which led to a significant increase in scratch card production and enabled us to expand our capabilities beyond Bulgaria.

We were so impressed by the precision engineering and registration capability of the FL5 card line, we decided to invest in a second FL5 Flexographic Printing Machine for Lottery Card Production in 2020. Our investment in our second press fully supported our ongoing growth expansion efforts.”

Ivan explained: “Our second press comprised of a 17-colour, FL5 card line, custom built specifically for printing sophisticated lottery scratch cards.  It’s equipped with advanced features such as the Edale AiiR print automation system, extended hot air-drying technology as well as EZ reg camera register control, inspection capabilities and integration of variable data printing on both sides of the web.  This solution has an impressive 140 driven motor axes.

Our second press has doubled our output, resulting in a significant increase in workload.  As a result, we have hired new employees and are currently operating at full capacity.”

Demax’s press length exceeded ‘35 meters’, making it the longest press we have ever designed and we were proud to manufacturer at our Edale UK factory.
