High-build and Tactile Effects
High Build Tactile Effects
Tactile effects give a high end look to any printed material and are used for labels in expensive end products such as wine, liquor and cosmetics.
Digital- The EFX bar from Edale can be configured to give a high laydown of a clear varnish which once cured gives tactile kind of effects on the substrate. With an effect up to 120 microns and no tooling required this is a versatile tactile effect with quick job change over and personalisation capabilities.
Rotary Screen – A development of printing with flat screens is to wrap the screen around to form a tube, with the ink supply and squeegee inside the tube. The resulting roller rotates at the same speed as the web in a roll-to-roll machine. This allows for high volume of ink transfer to the substrate giving a tactile kind of effect once dried or cured.

Flatbed Hot Foil
This is an intermittent process and a buffer is required between the hot stamping section to allow for continuous printing. As the process is intermittent it reduces the amount of foil which can be…
