Apprentice CNC Machinist
Title: Apprentice CNC Machinist [ACM]
Accountable to: Project Manager
Close liaison: After Sales/Service, Project ng, Sales, Technical and Manufacturing Teams

Overview
The position of apprentice CNC Machinist has been created to provide the successful candidate with recognised training skills to programme and operate CNC machinery, and training covering a range of disciplines within our manufacturing business. Throughout the training period the candidate will be exposed to other departments throughout the business.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.
- To operate efficiently on any of the machines to the required times.
- Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto the machines.
- Determine the fixtures, attachments, and tools necessary to complete jobs according to specifications.
- To produce high quality components to the drawings, specifications, and tolerances provided.
- To self-inspect all work that you have carried out on a component in accordance with the quality procedure.
- To ensure the machine is regularly maintain following the department maintenance schedule.
- Recommend drawings changes that could result in better efficiency and quality of components.
- Continually evaluate machine cutters and technology to improve cycle times.
- Create specific machine set-ups for all components.
Performance Management:
The applicant will be performance managed through a set of dedicated milestones in conjunction with business and college expectations. This will include, but is not limited to, meeting college deadlines for coursework and adhering to company policy and procedure whilst diligently completing all necessary documents to a high standard.
The performance of the Apprentice CNC Machinist will be tied into the wider departmental KPI’s and therefore will be entitled to any departmental bonuses or reward schemes.
